SPRING AWAKENING | ACTORS THEATRE OF LITTLE ROCK

Spring Awakening becomes a world in bloom, where the physical environment grows and transforms alongside the teenagers discovering themselves. As the characters navigate sexuality, identity, authority, and the loss of innocence, the space sprouts, blossoms, and changes with them, reflecting the messy, beautiful process of becoming. The “Purple Summer” becomes a symbol of this transformation: every flower has its season to grow, bloom, fade, and begin again. Just as the teens cannot remain who they were, the world around them refuses to stay still. This is a story about growing up, and what happens when young people are not given the space, knowledge, or freedom to do so safely.
